The Tall Torch of Liberty monument composition is a symbolic sculptural depiction of the hope for the attainment of liberty, freedom and justice. Two hands cradle the Flames of Freedom; there is a dualistic movement in this composition as it feels as though the hands both create and are created by the elemental forms of this fire. The wrists of these hands are surrounded by broken shackles and chains: once in bondage, this symbolic figure is now free. This composition intends to serve as a beacon of hope for the oppressed.
