Guardian Angel

Bronze Monument, 2015

Thayer Security Gate
West Point, NY

The Guardian Angel bronze sculpture is permanently placed at Fort Wright, Kentucky. A plaque on the reverse-side cast in raised-bronze lettering reads the following dedication: “Dedicated to all families whose loved ones have courageously and honorably given ‘the last full measure of devotion’ to ensure that we all may live freely and in peace under God. May those families find solace in this hallowed place and know that all who visit honor and remember their supreme sacrifice. Thank you.” This work was created on commission by the parents of the fallen Special Forces Green Beret SSG Daniel Tyler Lee, who were comforted by Greg’s permanently placed bronze sculpture, The Angel and the Dying Unknown, in the Meditation Garden at Dover Air Force Base’s Center for Families of the Fallen. This work honors a soldier’s prayers for the peace of a guardian angel, and the families’ prayers for their protection.
